Parents Come to Switzerland!!!!! 1st stop: Mont Blanc:)

Something we have been looking forward to for some time now is our parents coming into town! The first weekend in September, Andrew's mom and dad flew in! Byron had work in London and Amsterdam, so he and Jennifer got to swing down and see us for a few days. We enjoyed a wonderful evening talking, and then the next morning, we set off for some adventures!

The day was bright and sunny, so we set off for Chamonix to see Mont Blanc! (We had to redeem our last visit, the diesel-gasoline disaster;) We couldn't have asked for a better day! We took a cable car up into the mountain range to where we were able to have a great view of Mont Blanc. It seemed to get more and more spectacular the more we ascended! We even got to see some ice climbers and base jumpers take off! (Bunch of crazies.) We had been up into high mountains before, but nothing compared to the views we saw up here. We really felt on top of the world!

 After we came down the mountain, we ate a picnic lunch, and then took a stroll through Chamonix. We then headed towards Martigny, where we were able to see more beauty and exquisite views. We stopped at Chillon Castle on the way back to Geneva (which unfortunately had closed for the day:( ) But we got to take some nice pictures, and then finished off the day with some cheesy fondue!

Sunday, we had Stake Conference and were privileged to hear from Elder Ballard. It was an amazing conference! Afterwards, we had some lunch and then took Byron and Jennifer on a stroll through Geneva. We walked along the river, and then to the Bastions Park and Old Town. Then we walked along the lake, took a water taxi across Lake Geneva, and then walked through the Botanical Gardens. Sounds like a simple, easy little tour, but it took most of the day! They were troopers, and we had a relaxing evening with a pasta dinner and brownie sundaes!
