We had the best time with Byron and Jennifer! After saying our goodbyes at the Paris airport, we welcomed my mom and dad! They flew in from Salt Lake to spend a week and a half with us. We spent half of our time together in France, and then made our way down to Switzerland and had many adventures there! My dad kept a very detailed diary of all our experiences, so he will be our first "guest" entry;) He writes much better than me, so enjoy!
September 10, 2014--Daddy's Travel Log
We made it through customs without a hitch and were soon
picked up by Bethany and Andy and headed to Normandy. Andy had recently bought a Subaru Outback and
it worked well for the trip. We had a 2
hour drive ahead of us and I soon zonked.
Jet lag!
On the way we stopped by Monet’s Gardens to see where he
lived and was inspired to paint the lilly ponds, the art of which we would see
later. It was as beautiful a garden as I
have seen, though he was truly possessed to spend as much time as he did
painting a lilly pond.

Our destination was Balleroy, a little town outside of
Normandy. Bethany had found a place for us to stay; an annex to a home run by this wonderful lady from England named Jenny. She was in her 60’s and had beautiful British teeth J. The place was perfect, had two bedrooms and two toilets and a shower. Mom and I drew the double bed and Andy and Bethany got the twins
.We drove around for a while and looked for a place to eat
dinner. We were referred to a place next
to the local gas station which turned out ok.
Our waiter was a kid in his 20’s who spoke some broken English thank
heaven. We had some steak and frites and
salad. We also couldn’t pass up some ice
cream with whipped cream on top. Yum
yum.
