Our first Swiss National Day!
Similar to our Fourth of July, Swiss National Day celebrates the foundation of the Swiss Confederacy back in 1291. Everyone gets the day off, which means we get to plan something fun!
After a pancake breakfast in our apartment, Andy and I packed a lunch and drove up into the Jura Mountains to go on a hike near La Cure. Hard to go wrong with the hiking here. This was a flat, pretty easy hike, but we got to see some beautiful meadows and pastures. There were these beautiful stone-stacked fences weaving through the landscape, on which we sat to eat our sandwiches:) Great Hike!

After our hike, we went to our church building to help set up for a Stake Activity for National Day. There, we met a new family who just moved into our ward, the Batemans. Brandon, Tori and their two kids just moved to Geneva from DC. They were able to join us for the National Day festivities with the Boyds!
We went over to Tia and Rhandzu's apartment for snacks, and then we walked down to the Coppet Dock for all the festivities. There was music, lanterns, food, and the bonfire! We just hung out and enjoyed the evening. It was nice!
