Surviving the Rest of Busy Season:)

 Busy season can feel so long. It's good that it is during the cold and dreary time of year because once warm weather hits, we get Andy back and we can hit the ground running during the best time of year. But it can get a bit discouraging and long. Being pregnant and having a busy toddler who just wants to be outside doesn't make it easy either. But we did have some happy memories mixed in there.

The Parley's Nature Park was finally dry! Bennett and I went on some nice walks. He was in heaven! Lots of puddles, lots of dogs, and lots of rocks. Ahhh.

 We finally had some warmish days and hit up Evergreen Park! Happy Boy! And he is finally learning how to climb up and go down the slide by himself. Yay.

 This year has been the year of weddings in the Pinnock family! Dear Rachel tied the knot with her man Jake! Beautiful reception at Cactus and Tropicals and then a special sealing in the Salt Lake Temple the next morning. I still can't believe how everyone is growing up and getting married! Just yesterday Jess and I were babysitting all these goobers;)

 We had just a month or so left of our aquarium pass, so we hit that up quite a bit in the afternoons!

 We had a fun visit from Natasha and Seeley Birchard! Tash is my dear friend from our Geneva days. Seeley was born just a few weeks before Bennett, so she showed me the ropes of having a newborn. We haven't seen each other since we moved back, so we had a really fun visit. And the blonde hair on these boys?!?!?!

 We had a short visit from our Hughbie!!!!! He walked down to the Nature Park with us (and helped carry Bennett up that darn hill). We had a fun dinner at Zupa's after, which was fun.

 We finally had some really warm days. AHHHHH! Warm days warrant popsicles. Bennett's first! He was a bit confused as it started to melt and when half of it fell off the stick. He was a happy boy though.

 Easter weekend was really fun. Friday evening, we headed down to Lindon for pizza and an Easter Egg hunt with the Browns. So fun. Bennett and Liam had decorated Easter eggs with Mammy, so they had a fun time hunting for those in my parents' backyard on Easter Sunday. Easter was bittersweet this year because we lost our dear Grandma Marilyn earlier that week. We will miss her so much. But how grateful we are for the plan of Salvation. She no longer has to be in pain and she is reunited with Grandpa. It was nice to be together as a family to remember her and how she touched our lives.

 Normally, I have been pretty rigid about not letting Bennett get into all my drawers in the kitchen. Child locks were my friend this winter. But the drawer of pots kept him entertained for ages. Bring it on!

 Bennett developed a bit of stubbornness towards the end of busy season. Hated getting his diaper changed and hated getting dressed. I think some of it started when he had a really bad diaper rash and the doc said to let him run around naked for about 10 minutes following his daily bath to let things air out. Happy Bennett! Who wouldn't love that freedom? It was going really well, until the day that he peed in seven different parts of the main floor within less than 10 minutes. Lesson learned: Don't take phone calls when your 2 year old is running around without a diaper.

Needless to say, running around free as a bird everyday for a few weeks makes getting dressed that much more of a drag. But Bennett did love getting his own boots on!

 We had our last Kindermusik class:( We have met some great friends, who we will continue to see. But we will miss Ms. Katie! She really had a way with these kiddos. She made music fun for toddlers and just knew how to make Bennett smile. We will miss the "Hello Song" and all of the actions that go along with it!

 Since B has been pretty stubborn about his stroller as well, we got him an early birthday present. A scooter!!!! This one starts out with a seat and it can be removed later. And a helmet to match! He is still getting the hang of it, but I think we are going to have some fun times on this hog!

 Another joy discovered? Dirt. Lots and lots of dirt! He loves taking handfuls from our grow box and throwing it on his slide before sliding down. Sandboxes? Heaven! But the best was Grandma brown's garden. He and his cousins had a good time. He had crammed dirt into every crevice and his hair was not so white anymore. He was a mess, but we just bust up laughing!

I remember the night that Andy came home from work, having just issued his last client of busy season! Huge weight lifted from both our shoulders and lots of rejoicing! We made it!
