Hughbie comes to Visit!!!!!!!!

Hughbie in Switzerland at last!

We had our first visitor!!!!!!! Hughbie Dughbie Woo! my wonderful brother came to Europe to visit his mission in Amsterdam, and he cruised on down to Switzerland to see us for a few days! Best Brother of the Year Award goes to.......HUGH! We had such a good time and tried to show him some of the best Switzerland has to offer. I only felt bad that he was a bit jetlagged, but he was patient with my itinerary!

First, we got on a train and got on the Golden Pass in Montreux. To see some incredible scenery in Switzerland, some of these scenic trains are the ticket. It was so beautiful!

After seeing some beautiful views from the train, we got to Interlaken. More lovely views! Hugh and I just enjoyed walking along the river, enjoying the scenery, and catching up on life! It was so beautiful and fun to be with Hugh!

 It was a great day trip! We ran into some drama on the train ride home. We got on the train and I was in the process of buying our tickets, and my phone died!!!!!!! Ended up being a pricier ticket on the way home, but it was a fun day!

The next day, Hugh and I hopped on a train to Nyon, where we saw the Chateau and got on a boat to Yvoire, France. Yvoire is a quaint medieval town right across Lake Geneva from Nyon. We managed to avoid rain for the most part. We had a great time just walking the town, eating Movenpick ice cream, and feeding the ducks our pretzels. Had to give Hugh a little taste of France!

We got on the boat back to Nyon, then got on a train to Montreux! Near Montreux is the famous Chillon Castle, made famous by Lord Byron's poem Prisoner of Chillon. This was really cool! Hugh loved seeing his very first real castle!

 Fortunately, they were hosting a fancy event that evening, so the Alp horns were hired for some entertainment!

 After our tour of the castle, we got on the train back to Geneva to be with my Andy Man! We salivated over some yummy fondue and salad, and then relaxed and watched a movie. Perfect way to end the day!

 Saturday!!!!!!! Andy gets to join us!!!!! We were able to borrow our friend's car and take Hugh to Gruyeres, the famous town of cheese! I love this stunning drive!

 One thing that is wonderful about this place is that it epitomizes what people think of when they think of Switerland: Swiss chalets, the Alps, cows and cowbells, bright green fields and mountainsides, wildflowers, and CHEESE!!!!!

After enjoying Gruyeres, we headed to Broc, home to the famous Cailler Chocolate Factory!

 We all stuffed ourselves full of chocolate after our tour of the factory. Oh the bellyache, but so worth it!

We then headed to Lausanne, home to the Olympic Museum right on Lake Geneva. It was pretty close to closing, so we didn't take the full tour, but we got to walk the gardens and see some of the famous sculptures!

We pulled into Geneva, all pretty tired, and enjoyed some curry for dinner and Count of Monte Cristo for our movie! It was great to have Hugh with us! Thank you for being our first visitor Hughbie Dughbie Woo!!!!!!!
